Stands for Hypertext Markup Language. HTML is a set of codes that are used to tell a web browser how to display a webpage. Each individual code is called an element, or a tag. HTML has a starting and ending element for most markups. Hyper means it is not linear, so it is possible to go to any place on the internet and there is no set order.
