If customers find a website or app valuable, they will keep using it. That’s retention.
We can measure retention over days, weeks or months using the Cohort Analysis in most search engines. The Retention Rate is measured by comparing the number of users who visit the site within a certain period, normally you would measure 1-day, 7-days and 30-days.
This example shows a drastic drop-off of users after the first day. So, they are finding what they’re looking for straight away, or they are not coming back.
