“Split Rate” or “Split Booking” is the term used for hotel reservations which have multiple rates within the same confirmation number. For example:
John and Jane are checking in on the 3rd August and departing 5th August and their reservation is confirmed as:
- Monday 3 August: $225 Romantic Package with bubbles & chocolates & rose petals scattered all over the suite on arrival
- Tuesday 4 August: $150 room only
- Wednesday 5 August: $150 room only
- Total $525.00.
The split rate is named because the first night is on a different rate than the other 2 nights.
