A general term for where a website appears in search engine results. A site’s “ranking” may increase or decrease over time for different search terms, or queries. Ranking is specific to each keyword, so a website may have keywords that rank on the first page, and others that don’t. Google ranking is made up of 200+ components, or ranking factors to determine where a website ranks.
